Who's getting the Weber Searwood?

The local OSH in Millbrae has the smaller one on display. I was able check it out and it looks interesting. It does look like many of the issues with SmokeFire have been fixed.

Taking the plunge today.

I've been in the market for a pellet smoker for awhile, but was in "research mode". One thing that has held me back was no direct fire on most other brands and they're made overseas. And secondly, all the SF issues had me worried.

Enter SW. It seems like the issues have been addressed. I realize there is still some ambiguity regarding what is made here, but I'm comfortable with that.

Picking up the SW XL 600 this afternoon. I'll report back when I do my first cook.

Looks like my time with the Smokefire is coming to an end.

Doing the burn-off/seasoning.

Dang you went all out. What model Yoder?
640. Looked at the 480 and probably big enough but the 640 just feels right and not that much of a cost difference when you consider the overall cost. The 480 seemed small and I am coming from an ex4 that was fine with me. Plus they had this one still in the box. It is heavy duty. Doing a burn in and season today. I'll post a comparison review after I get some cooks in on it.

Dang I almost stopped by there today just to look around.
I’m going to swing by after work.
What did they have for sale? Both?

I only saw the 600 not the XL 600. I have a EX4 so that's the one I wanted to see. I was a bit surprised to see it because that have so many Traegers and never had the Smokefire.
