What exactly is the problem? I assume it fluctuates which is how most smoke boost type technology works to my knowledge. It’s a self induced inefficient burn. Right?
 
I didn't get an email, comma so mid cook I got notified of an update. It locked up my controller, even though it said if wouldn't. The temp probe reading froze and eventually the grill temp dropped to 160, even though set to 275 degrees. Had to shut off power, then work through the shutdown process. Eventually got the cook going, but lost some time. Next time I will restart during the warmup to get it updated. I should have known better than to trust the software. Will I ever learn?
The new Firmware became available today.....
 
Silly question. How do you update. Did not see it on the menu.
At some point, it will auto update when the grill is turned on It might do it in the middle of a cook like some folks have reported
 
Mine dowloaded the firmware during a cook but just showed message in app to shutdown to install. I was already on the current software. Two cooks since the upd and no issues so far. Both were less than three hours.
 
Took the cover off the SmokeFire today and woke it from its winter slumber for updates and to get it ready for some cooking soon as the weather here is finally starting to break.

Went through two full updates which were interestingly 3 downloads (I'm guessing two firmware updates and one JuneOS, or I might have that backwards). Anyway, all updating went very well and since I have changed my home network quite a bit over the winter the updates were done via Bluetooth. A little slower than wifi but it was quite reliable.

The last thing I did was add the SmokeFire to my new WiFi 6 home network. That was easy enough with the Weber app on my iPhone and soon the bluetooth icon on the SF display changed to a healthy wifi icon indicating that my network signal in the garage and outdoors is much stronger than it was last year. Changes were good after an antique router death, all for the better.

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
 
Just updated myself, had issues last night but I was cooking some ribs so I didn’t get too into it.
Deleted the app and worked first time. Big cook next weekend so hopefully it all works out.
 
Software is glitchy for me . Currently have correct version as shown in pic. Then I get the red circle showing an update but then says"update failed"

Cook is coming along, but now the only option from the app is to shutdown ?? I can't deactivate Smokeboost or change temp from the app. After changing the temp at the control panel, now the app shows multiple options.... DISAPPOINTING after all the time they had to fix this

I had to delete the app and start over with the update. Worked well first time.
 
Finally got mine to work. I has to forever my wirel network in the Weber Connect app, and turn Off my wireless connection on my phone. Only communication was Bluetooth. Set my phone on The Smokefire table and it installed. I had tried everything before, but the key is it will only update when the only communication is Bluetooth. It updated Really quick. a Matter of minutes.
