It has arrived!!

Wasn't sure where to post this, so decided to use my grill arrival thread.

Weber rep came this morning and swapped out my auger assembly. Super nice guy. Took about an hour. He said there was something wrong with the gasket. Fired it up and it hit 500 in 11 minutes and 600 in less than 20. It is 40 and quite windy today.

I have nothing bad to say about the experience. He even let slip that a front and side shelf are coming.

I'm not sure if Lowes return window is 30 or 90 days, but either way I have a couple weeks to make a decision on whether to return it knowing about the other issues (grease fires, pellet feeding, app, etc.). I have to believe that Weber will step up and address them given the attention they are getting.

At this point, I guess I'll wait and see how the situation develops and then make a decision.

Lowes return policy is 90 days

Good news! I've cooked hamburgers, ribs, chuck roast, steaks, beef strips (sorta jerky), chicken strips, and whole chickens and they all came out great. Glad to see the company standing behind the product. In all fairness, this grill is under intense scrutiny because we all want it to be a success and it would be informative to see how many grills have been delivered so we can get a perspective on how many grills actually have problems. As it is now, we hear the most when one has a problem but we don't hear from all of the ones that do not. That understandably makes people who are on the fence nervous. To them I'd say, go ahead, accept the order, open the box and start grilling. You know you want to :)
