It has arrived!!

Sorry for the delay! It snowed a couple inches last night and was about 20 degrees this morning. Assembly was pretty easy.

Paired with phone easily and did an update that took around 15 minutes.

First startup did not go as planned. Set to 600 to “season” for 30 mins per manual. Started smelling smoke, but 5 mins later temp had not gone up and it gave an E6 start up failure error and did a shutdown.

Currently waiting 15 mins for that then will power cycle and try again.

Hopefully this is just a fluke??

Well, it's heating up like crazy now! The manual didn't mention it, but I wonder if I should have primed the firebox with a few pellets since it was completely empty? Been about 10-12 minutes and it's up to 490. I'll let it go for 30 minutes and then it's time to cook something!

I am so happy for you! Many people are living vicariously through you right now! Going where no other BBQer has gone before!

Photographed in the wild!

Quick update on the burn-in/season. Got up to 490 in 10-12 minutes and then never got any higher. I left it running for about an hour. It is chilly with a slight breeze, but I was hoping to get a higher temp.

Threw on a couple packages of brats and spread them out to see how evenly they cooked. The right side seems slightly hotter than the left and it's also hotter in the center and between the flavorizer bars. It requires a little rotation, but pretty nice overall. Cooked in the same amount of time as I'm used to on my kettle.

Immediately after they were done, I lowered the temp to 225 and thew on a 2lb chuck roast. I didn't wait for the temp to drop first, I kind of just wanted to see what would happen. Ended up dropping to about 180 and then crept up to 225 and has been rock solid there since. Started a new cook in the app with a 200 alert on probe 1. The app seems to be very responsive. Will post an update when done.

It all sounds good but I along with you wanted to see that 600. Still better than the competition as a whole... Which pellets are you using?

I'm using the Weber Grillmaster Blend. They seem pretty nice, good smell and flavor. I'm curious to see other people's results as far as temps go.

You mentioned couple inches of snow, what is the ambient temperature? Was hoping it wouldn't matter but maybe it's having an effect...
It's about 25 degrees, so not ideal grilling/smoking weather, but I guess I was hoping it would be a little closer to 600. I got a good result with brats, though.
