It has arrived!!

Thanks Brian and Billybo for the responses and validation that I'm not crazy for fixating on this one aspect of the grill. I like the idea of creating a Max/min temperature thread, as I was also thinking about how low it could go 🤔... And agree that the ambient temperature will likely have a significant impact on temperature ranges and fuel consumption. Luckily I'm in the Atlanta area and may not be as severely impacted by those issues 😁

I just created the thread for us. If you would please put in the info that we already have been talking about there. Thanks! Happy Grilling!

The cold weather will have an impact on how much fuel is used to make temp. I bought a welding blanket to throw over the top of mine to help insulate it during cold temps. Ordered the Ex6 but dont have it yet. Been using a stick burner for ten years and it uses twice as much wood when cooking in cold weather. Have used a moving blanket to throw over it and it helps a lot. Im sure at 50 degrees the smoker would reach 600

Jim what brand and model stick burner do you have and how do you like it. Also after you get your EX6 can you post reviews how it compares to the stick burner.

My smoker is a Tejas model 2430 made in Texas. It is pretty awesome and works great. Getting older and its a chore chopping wood and feeding it every hour. Not that bad if your smoking ribs but for pork butts its a lot of work. Never owned a gas grill or a pellet grill so Im excited to cook on it for the connivence. I Will give a review of the EX6 once I have had a chance to cook on it. Supposed to be here on Wednesday and supposed to be 25 degrees all week. I plan on throwing the welding blanket on top of it to see if it will reach 600. See how it goes

Still waiting for my preorder shipping notification from Weber
I’m in the same boat. Preordered mine through Weber in early December. I received my accessories but still no information on shipping my EX6 from Weber.

So, thinking about it not hitting 600... I think I read or saw that the fire box in the ex4 and ex6 are identical. If that's the case, is it possible that only the ex4 can reach 600 due to the smaller size? I'm new to smokers in general and would love to hear from you guys with more experience...

I doubt that. It’s tuning. They reached much higher in engineering and tuned it down to 600 as that is the optimal searing temp according the Weber.

Wasn't sure where to post this, so decided to use my grill arrival thread.

Weber rep came this morning and swapped out my auger assembly. Super nice guy. Took about an hour. He said there was something wrong with the gasket. Fired it up and it hit 500 in 11 minutes and 600 in less than 20. It is 40 and quite windy today.

I have nothing bad to say about the experience. He even let slip that a front and side shelf are coming.

I'm not sure if Lowes return window is 30 or 90 days, but either way I have a couple weeks to make a decision on whether to return it knowing about the other issues (grease fires, pellet feeding, app, etc.). I have to believe that Weber will step up and address them given the attention they are getting.

At this point, I guess I'll wait and see how the situation develops and then make a decision.

This is great news. Good for Weber and I am glad for you too.

Thanks for the update, glad they fixed that for you. I'm planning on keeping mine as I'm sure there will be some fix for the pellet issue. As for the grease fires I will probably look into using a drip pan for larger fattier cooks. Though I fully respect people that decide to return or cancel until these things are addressed.
