With which grill/smoker did you replace your faulty Smokefire?

Hi There, I have used mine a couple times and have noticed the same issues everyone else is having especially with the pellets not feeding into the auger. I am thinking of returning but unfortunately I did not buy it at lowe's. Has anyone been successful in returning it back to weber?

I returned mine, no problem. I had done the burn in and had the pellet feed issue. Started hearing about the grease fires and that was it for me. Called Weber and told them that I was afraid to use it and wanted to return it.

Do they require all original packaging? I tossed it all but the pallet of course.

Brian - how is the Rectec?
It won't be here until this coming Wednesday. A full 9 working days to ship from GA to CA. Dang it! Thanks for asking though. I feel good about its potential to be a good replacement for my Traeger Texas Elite 34. I had hoped only 7 days, but it is a full 9.

RecTec told me it takes 8-9 days to get out to California. That’s the only downside!

My RT590 arrived this past Tuesday, and I haven't had one hiccup out of it. It takes a while to heat up, but it will hit 550°, and hold no problem. As for the grill grates I already had some that I purchased for my old Camp Chef.

I only live an hour or so from Rec Tec so rode over today just to see them in person. Very nice building, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. I already had my shopping cart online filled, waiting for me to press the order button. I hit it the minute I got home. I'm with you, Brian, and some others. I can't wait. I was impressed seeing it in person...

That is so great that you can see things in person. Question: You cannot order or buy in the store? Or was it easier to just do online?

Could have ordered in store. Would have had to fill out order form, name, address, etc. I had already filled everything in online, so I waited and hit the buy button when I got home. They would have happily taken my order there. Really glad I went, though. They gave me a couple bottles of their rubs to try. Really nice people...

Looking back I’m glad I had to go through the SmokeFire experience to come to the Yoder YS640S. Everything simply works and is amazing. Kinda like a Mac over PC in my experience. The quality, the controller/app, and flawless operation have made me truly satisfied. I had been looking at pellet grills for 6 months and settled on the Weber the first week of December. Having never owned a pellet grill and then using the SmokeFire for a week I learned some of my preferences. I prefer and now only want a side loading hopper. I didn’t like having to walk around to the back of the grill. It’s less efficient and increases your chances of tripping on a cord or the side of the grill. I prefer a side smoke stack - not how the SmokeFire is designed. I also prefer a heat diffuser rather than the flavorizer bar design. It manages the grease flow away from the fire and down to a pot and I have no flying ash on my food. I also prefer having the ability to manage heat zones within the pit. The Yoder sliding baffle is pretty slick. Finally, I really enjoy how quiet the YS640S is over the SmokeFire. I can barely tell it’s on. Yes, I had to pay a lot more for the Yoder but I feel you get what you pay for.

I may be right behind you!

Thanks for your response. God bless and happy grilling!

Look me up and say hello. I plan to stay here too. Lots of good folks. I am rooting for Weber. They have so much to offer and do hope all is going to be well. Let's just get the grilling and smoking going! So many hungry people out there!

Let us know how it works for you Brian - Very interested!
