Weber Complimentary Ramp Accessory

The OEM insert uses some sort of calk - not applied very well on mine, as there's still small gaps. Does anyone know what material is used for the Weber calk?
Your Insert they sent you has caulk on it?? That is interesting. Mine does not and I have seen no mention of it anywhere.
Or are you talking about the ramp that was already installed in the hopper of the grill from the factory? If so yes it is caulk. Seems to be acrylic.

Factory hopper has calk. I have not unboxed the ramp that came today.

Oh Ok. Then I am sorry I do not understand your question unless you want to know what type of caulk it is. It seems to be acrylic. I would have thought it to be high temp but it doesn't seem to be nor do I think it needs to be. I am just speculating though.

Yes. Does not appear to be high temp and was applied with poor workmanship/machineship. It's another DIY mod I have in mind and I'd like to match the OEM material. Not a big deal, though.

Thanks for sharing the photos, I was curious how they would look compared to the video. I was curious about the strength too and if would bend easily.

Email from Weber, my update is being shipped. Thanks for sharing images of the installed update. It does look as though it will make filling the hopper a little more challenging for those of us that are “vertically challenged” as in I’m only 5’8” and reaching over the grill to dump pellets isn’t a clean process (pellets spilling all over) 🤣

I’ve been using a big scoop since I dump them into a food safe bucket and trying to pour from that into the hopper is a bit challenging. Helps keep me from getting pellets between the hopper and the grill.

Good idea! I’ve been keeping mine in the bag stored in airtight bins inside the house. But I do have a scoop. I like that suggestion 👍

Anyone with an EX4 received theirs yet? Mine shows waiting to ship still. No big deal for me just curious if maybe only the EX6 ones were available yet. They turned these around pretty quickly.

My biggest question: Does it work?

Has anyone done a long cook yet without issue?

I received my new auger and hopper accessory just now, unfortunately we are leaving for Vegas in 10 min!

Mine has been sitting in a box at my house while I was traveling. Finally got to put it in and test it out. I ran the cooker for about 3 hours and didn’t have any issues at all! Big improvement.

The only time that the temperature dropped in my chart below is when I opened the cooker to flip my chicken breasts.

Everything turned out delicious.

Heard from Weber today on my EX4 insert.
“ As for your hopper accessory, it should be mid to late next week.”

Guessing they are manufacturing and shipping the EX6s first.
