Okay, it's official: I'm OUT! (But still happy to be here!)

Update: After 4 days of no communication from Weber on acknowledging my refused order. I called my credit card company told them I don’t have the unit and never did have and can show proof that SEKO shipping has acknowledged I did not take receipt. Charge removed from my credit card. The End.

They had bigger fires to put out. Lol. Glad you got it taken care of.

Thanks. I feel for the many guys that did put their unit’s together. I was trying to make it as easy as possible for Weber and myself. Using your credit card company to put them on notice is another way to call them on units that are not functioning. Document everything and call. It cannot hurt. As a consumer we all have rights.

Brian, have you tried calling them. It took all of 10 minutes to cancel my order, and SEKO had already informed them that I wasn't accepting it. As for the charge on your credit card it will take 5-7 days to get back, as this is normal for all transactions.

No, My money is already back as of my phone call with VISA. Weber has a right to dispute, but what is there to dispute? I never had possession of the product and it is in its original box. I am glad it went well for you on that!

Okay folks, after much research I realized I already had the best setup available. It works really well and is quite mobile. 20 year old grill w/ upgraded grate. All is well. Charcoal NOT included.
I got one as a wedding gift too 22 years ago. If finally gave out two days after I got the SmokeFire. I was moving it and one of the leg bracket welds came off. Had been outside uncovered for the last 15 years. Great grill though hasn’t seen much use since I got my Genesis.

It looks like Weber suggests using a water pan on the flavorizer bars for long cooks. Maybe that is the fix for all of the concerns? If they were to give us a couple water pans to put on both sides of the smoker. This will help even the temperature and catch the grease preventing fire risks. I’d push them to the back to force the smoke through the front to escape on the back of the grill.

My EX6 gets delivered on Wednesday (FINALLY)... can someone give me the dimensions of the area between the flavorizor bars and the grill grates? I’ll likely try to find an aluminum pan like these: Mophorn Set of 6 Hotel Pan 2 Inch Steam Table Pan Full Size 20x12x2 Inch 9 Quart Stainless Steel Anti Jam Steam Table Pan https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PCJ1MF7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_s22sEbK1HF3SE
It is often suggested that in pellet or steel kettle grills that you use a water pan on longer cooks. My understanding is that it is to help keep your food moist. Not as much of an issue in ceramic egg grills as I am told. A water pan is not a grease pan and it seems that the Smokefire needs a grease pan for longer cooks or fattier cooks. I honestly think Weber need to go back to the drawing board.

The way that Weber keeps the pellet auger away from the firepot using the pellet slide is a great innovation, but they still have other issues that need to be worked out. I'm not convinced that they won't wind up using a large grease pan like the other pellet grills. There is a reason that they're built that way.

I think that Weber will get there. In the meantime, some of us are prepared to go through the growing pains with Weber and some of us aren't.

My wife and I talked about this and we decided that I don't need the waste of time or frustration of dealing with a grill that is having the myriad issues that this SmokeFire is having. So I wrote to Weber and told them to either have the carrier return delivery or I just will not accept delivery. I have already spent way TOO much time on this not ready for Primetime grill. Baby Back Maniac's latest video cemented that for me. I know Weber will take care of their customers, but I am not going to be one in this case.
Just my personal experience. I don’t make my purchasing descriptions based off of Internet personality opinions. That said I do research stuff, and then take time to see how things go, and then wait some more. That being said I found my EX6 on offer up for half the price. After looking at it it had been tested, but not cooked on. I got it and was scared to death with all the negative feedback. But...I’ve had no issues at all works great, and Im very happy with it. I still use my kettles, and my gasser, but I really like being able to set the temp and watch it do it’s thing, then take food off when it’s done. Good luck all. P.S. Weber customer service has been great to me so far.

Just my opinion but you freed yourself to look at BETTER smokers. It was recommended to me to look at RecTeq and I got one and am enamored with everything about it and the company. It is built way better than the Weber all the way around. I wanted to like the Weber but it didn’t live up to the hype.

Blah blah blah, the SmokeFire is way better at grilling and nothing puts out the smoke like a SmokeFire🔥

My SmokeFire has been fantastic and I’d buy another if it died today. Some of the best food I’ve cooked and 100 times more convenient than my WSM.

100 times easy!! My WSM is a decoration at this point.

Still use my 22” WSM two or three times a year for larger smokes of Pork Butts and Briskets for reunions, fundraisers and large family parties. However, I much prefer the easy of use and cleanup of the SF..

Plus it is made in the USA, and Weber has an unparalleled history of supporting their grills, both in terms of after-market support for design and manufacturing issues and the reputation for the longevity of stocking replacement parts.
