SmokeFire EX4
Hello All! - Scott from Maryland here, long time Weber Genesis gas griller...saw a great price on a SmokeFire EX4 during Amazon prime days and pulled the trigger to get started with cooking with pellets! I recently retired after 39 years in the medical device industry (Operations/Manufacturing). When I am not grilling for the family/grandkids, you can find me at the beach hopefully chasing some good waves!

Hi Scott - welcome. I too made the change from my Weber Spirit to the SF EX4. It took a while to learn the SF and its quirks, and to adjust how I approached things - but I'm happy with the results. With the Spirit it was convenient to just light and go, with the SF it takes some setup planning. But the results are worth it and the range of cooking options available with the SF exceed what the Spirit could yield. Being a traditionalist, I kept my Weber Kettle because it can do rotisserie (a limitation of the SF that was rectified with the Searwood), and sometimes nothing beats a good old charcoal fire.
