Fancied a go at my first ever Tarte Tatin so thought id do it on the SF as I'd just cooked ribs.

Was hoping for a bit more colour on the apples but as the caramel can go from golden to black in seconds I erred on the side of caution.

That looks great! For another reason, I have a new skillet for grill use that has been turning everything black (color, not burnt like Carmel). Like dye is coming out of the cast. Any ideas, anyone?
 
What kind of skillet? Is it the seasoning coming off (tho you seem like one who would know how to season pans properly)?

I seasoned mine on the hob indoors with vegetable oil.
other than Mrs Grills washing it up with detergent 🤦‍♂️ No issues
 
Mine is a Lodge and I have multiple other Lodges what do not have this issue. I think I need to really strip it bare and start over.
 
Which was which? Top or bottom?
