JpsBBQ, what is your orange thing on the side table? A spray unit?
Yep. Itā€™s a pressurized spray bottle. I put some water and pineapple mango juice in it. Itā€™s a bit overkill unless you are catering or doing competition but I broke my little 12oz spray bottle. I donā€™t always spray or spritz, but Iā€™ve been playing around with it. Seems to build bark by wetting and drying the surface.

I usually do apple juice (have a stock due to grandkids). Pineapple is good also. Here in Tx, the original Dr. Pepper with cane sugar is a requirement for many BBQers.

Rotated racks front to back and back to front. Then sprayed them down for the second time.

I like the Dr Pepper idea. Sounds sweet. Pun intended. šŸ˜‚

We too like to use apple cider, but this time of year it evaporates too quickly (actually it disappears in my wifeā€™s Titoā€™s Vodka and cider with a splash of soda water) but I am sticking to the evaporation storyline for my own health.

Wrapped with some Kosmos rib glaze and back to the SF meat side down so it soaks in the glaze.

wings tomorrow I hope. Cheers!

Spatchcock chickens, sweet potatoes, new potatoes, and veggies. All with different rubs. First time doing sweet potatoes, turned out great. Used Dominator sweet rib rub.
