Smokefire Auger - Rev F

Does anyone know if Weber intends to send out these new parts to everyone or just the folks that are having issues ?
According to Harry Soo to all owners that registered their grill.
Great to see that Weber reacts in the US. Over here in Germany they seem very clueless, are hard to reach and slow to respond to emails. They even disabled the ratings/comments on their Website for the Smokefire models.

As I’ve said before my biggest issue with the whole thing is we should ALL have the best parts available.
That being said Weber is sending me the chute but said my auger is fine.🤷🏻‍♂️

Got my new welded auger assembly today. They shipped it overnight.

Looks like it has less places for pellets to hang up this way as well.

Got one as well, maybe this weekend I’ll put it in. Looks like a bit of work.

I did not have a problem getting to 600. I experienced three low and slow cooks where my SmokeFire was set to 225 degrees F and slowly sunk to 95 and then 74 degrees F. I've been using drip pans and I installed the new hopper insert. Then, on Thursday, March 12th, I set the grill temperature to 350 and went inside to prepare food. When I came outside, the grill had shut down and displayed an E6 error. This happened on a clean grill with empty aluminum drip pans placed below the flavor bars. I emailed weber photos of the E6 error display, the open grill, and one showing a pile of unlit pellets above the fire pit. They asked for "a clear photo of the auger gasket," which required an empty hopper. I sent the attached three photos which apparently convinced Weber to send me a new auger assembly. I don't see what convinced them. Can anyone identify what my photos revealed (if anything)?
I asked this exact question. I did send an email to Weber stating that what’s good for Harry Soo is good for me and you.
They sent the chute and auger.

What did you do to get the new parts? My replacement smokefire does not have it but if they have parts that radically different than the original I am sure it is only a matter of time of me using my grill (havent' much due to me working so much due to covid) or something wearing down. Would like to just get the new parts and install it.

That’s the way I was. I didn’t have issues but felt if they completely changed the design I wanted to go ahead and move to the new part before I did have issues.

I just replied to on of the Weber support emails I had from asking them a question about app updates. I said “ So I’m seeing that Weber sent Harry Soo a new auger assembly that is a new design and is welded instead of having a gasket that seems to be the cause of temp issues. I would like one of these as well please. ” and they replied and shipped it the next day.

I’ve been hounding Weber every week since mid February for the temp issues. The first part they sent me was the hopper ramp which was ridiculous in thinking it would help. Then they sent 2 different augers, the first just being a replacement auger that looked identical to the stock (wasn’t even labeled rev D or F). They then said the firmware update would take care of the temp issue and to wait for that to roll out. Well the firmware update made it even worse. Weber then sent a second auger replacement, the Rev F/chute combo that was caulked together. This also didn’t fix my temp issue. I had no idea they had a welded replacement available until I came across this thread. Emailed them yesterday and they responded today with a shipment out for the welded auger. Hopefully this helps.

Hope it resolves it for you. I wasn’t having temp issues but figured welded had to be better than that gasket. It got to 600 in 14 minutes after I installed it. Haven’t actually cooked anything yet though.

Hey Jbrad your issue sound identical to mine. I’m installing the welded chute today. I’ll report back on the results. If this works for me it will probably solve it for you too. I’m hoping to get to 600 in under 20 minutes.

Looking forward to what you find. I’ll be happy just to get to 600.
Success! I'm back to 600. The welded auger did the trick. As it gets up in temperature I noticed a lot more smoke than before. it's really hammering down. After it hit 600 I opened it and the flames were blasting.

Here are my numbers:
400 - 13 min
500 - 14 min 30 seconds
550 - 15 min 40 seconds
600 - 16 min 38 seconds

I'm going to make a new post to get the news out.
