Given that you had to pick it up and take it home, there is a good chance that the glow plug has loosened up in its holder. It is a simple procedure to take it and holder out and check for a tight fit ( instructions in the owners manual and Weber and on-line).Okay everybody. Here's the update. I just picked it up and brought it home. Gave it a good cleaning although it wasn't really that dirty. The finger guard was still in the hopper so I remove that. May have been what was causing some of his flame out issues. He already installed the new hopper slide and one piece auger shoot. I set it to 300 degrees and it didn't seem to want to light. I manually lit it and it seems to be going good right now. I haven't gone through a shutdown cycle yet to see if it will start on it's own.
I'll post an update after the second restart try
If you have a multi-meter, you might check for continuity between the tip and the point where the ground wire contacts the plug. Instructions on line, and if bad, you will need to replace.
Also make sure the black ground wire is making firm intact with the body of the glow plug, and consider putting a small pipe clam to hold it firmly against the ground. Also check that the connector to the holder is tightly seated.
