Sample Weber Smokefire Pellets

Yeah, the very pricey Memphis has a rear loading hopper that opens the other direction. It is an even bigger PITA due to the fact that it cannot be filled from the front of the grill. The Smokefire can as I routinely do just that.

However I’m not sure how anyone is able to use those probe ports. Heck you have to bend over a bit to use them.🤣

Great points.
I did just figure out to keep an empty pellet bag handy when filling the hopper. I was regularly having pellets lodge between the barrel and the hopper, now drape that empty bag over that gap and hold it in place by closing the cooker’s lid.

A one inch wide aluminum strip between the cook barrel and hopper will stop all the pellets getting stuck between

I just use a bucket with an old drinking cup to fill hopper.

First, the probe inserts are located as such to keep water from running into them and shorting them out. Second, the hopper door is designed as that the entire unit can be placed against a wall.
I mean, duh!! Great points AHM!!

I have said it many times before, my first attempt at lighting off my SF failed. That is when I first found out about some of the "issues". I called Weber CS and they sent me a new auger motor and control board. While waiting for those parts, I discovered brand X pellets were too wide, shop vacced them out, replaced them with Weber pellets and away we went! That was 3/2020. The rest is history. This discussion is beyond old news and indisputable, I don't care how many degrees you have.

What's actually concerning is the fact this post is about the length of the pellets.
