Probe holes on the wrong side?

Just got the Searwood and I'm doing the first cook today! Super excited. I was going to use the temperature probe, but the holes drilled into the body of the chamber are on the left. Is that how it's supposed to be? I don't see how the probe is going to go into the protein, through the hole on the left, and stretch all the way across the unit to the port on the right.
 
Those holes on the left side are for the screws to mount the rotisserie, if you get one. They are not for the pfobes. You can just put them through on the right side of the grill in the notch that is meant for the rotisserie and will easily reach where they need to be plugged in
