SOTM October 2020 Smoke of the Month Starts Now!

Thanks. Recipe here if you wanted to give it ago, really easy to do, as I say I don't like apples, but was assured it was very tasty and as good as any version out the oven with a hint of smokiness as well. I used vanilla ice cream instead of the fresh cream to serve it with.

I'd got a couple of other dishes on the go as well at the time, so didn't take as many photos as I wanted to, but the puff pastry firms up and is flaky and cooked after 45-50 minutes and it flips out the right way up when you tip it out, really easy. I was worried I would ruin my cast iron skillet, but shouldn't have worried, cleaned up really easy afterwards. If you like apples and want to do some afters when you've finished your main meal, well worth ago.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I'd got a couple of other dishes on the go as well at the time, so didn't take as many photos as I wanted to, but the puff pastry firms up nicely for a good base and is flaky and cooked after 45-50 minutes and it flips out the right way up when you tip it out, really easy. I was worried I would ruin my cast iron skillet, but shouldn't have worried, cleaned up really easy afterwards, with a little scraping. You need to get some aged extra sharp Tillamook cheese. Slice some pieces, and eat it with apple pie or apple stuff you made. Don’t melt it on just take a bite of apple pie, then a bite of that cheese. It’s one of those things that just goes together...IMO!

My humble offering: Spatchcock Chicken with crispy skin, New potatoes roasted and basted in olive oil, salt pepper, garlic and butter, plus stuffed, bacon wrapped Jalapeños with cream cheese, 3-cheese Mexican mix and Extra Sharp Cheddar.
As always the credit goes to the flawless performance of my EX4, as well as approving nods from my toughest critic...my wife!

Beef Ribs
One of my goals is to do some beef ribs...everytime I look for them I see the price, for such a small amount of meat, and just say no. One of these days though....
