New to the Pellet scene

Welcome to the club. You are going to love your grill. Regarding pellets, I've used pit boss, lumberjack, weber, smokehouse etc and for me they all work. The key words "for me". My advice is to start with Weber, get a baseline of performance to make sure your grill is performing, then try some other pellets and see how it goes. Just remember to clean the throat before every cook to make sure there is good air flow. Just grab the rubber spatula thing they give you and use it to brush any pellet coke away. If you have a sams club try the smokehouse pellets. They are $15 per 40lbs and end of season last year I bought a bunch at $7 per bag. Still have a stack of em. Oh yeah, forgot they just started offering smokehouse hickory + oak blend. Saw one today and picked it up. Haven't tried that one yet but I don't expect any problems. Enjoy!

I got my SF used. I actually was like brand new, I think someone did the initial burn in. Bought from a guy who picked it up at an auction. Came with treager pellets. I think it was hickory flavor. I did NOT like the taste. Switched to pit boss, used hickory then the charcoal flavored. No problems with them. Then I got a couple bags of Weber competition blend. Probably my favorite now. So that’s what I generally get.
