Just got my SmokeFire EPX6

Thinking Knight Rider….with the red light going back and forth on the lid handle. Plays the theme music when firing up and when shutting down….

"Michael, I don't think you have enough pellets to smoke that. I suggest you add more Weber(tm) pellets."

From what I can tell looking at the lid on my EX6 (which has a cross-threaded cap screw that isn't even properly seated), the straps are more decorative than functional and could possibly be removed altogether to accomplish the "stealth" aesthetic.
I also have a screw on the strap that's not seated all the way. Smoke actually escapes through the gap....

Right side strap? Mine leaks too in the exact same spot. I'll post a photo tomorrow, haven't decided yet if I want to try and straighten it out, does yours look cross-threaded like mine does?

Yup, I called Weber as soon as I unboxed it. They sent me a complete new lid , I did not install it yet due to the weather

Well I'll be calling them up tomorrow, sounds like this is an ongoing issue.

looks like a redesign of the hopper to allow a more consistent slide of the pellets, but pics to confirm?

Slightly pissed as I've only had my EX6 for 2months... should've waited on this.
Pretty sure there is a 100 money back guarantee still. I had mine for a little over 2 months and returned it. They gave me full credit back and I bought the new one from BBQ Guys. I felt ok about it because I actually emailed Weber before I ordered and asked if there was a new release coming. They said they couldn't talk about new products, check the website. I had no idea how long that would be until they released something new. Bought mine, it shipped. NEXT DAY, the website had the stealth version. Come on, haha. Enjoyed my experience with the EX6, biggest issue was pellets getting hung up. Looks like that's fixed. Can't wait for the new one. Contact Weber. They are awesome.

Hi,
Just received and assembled my new EPX6. If you have any questions about the model, just let me know and I'll try to look it up on mine.

Best regards
Johan
Hello. Any response from Weber on the chrome bands across the front? Seems like they should be at least dark. Also, there is supposed to be more room in the cook chamber for drip pans. Any pics of the cook chamber without the grates? Thanks! I pre-ordered mine from the BBQ Guys and really want to see it in person. I for one am going to be a little pissed if after all this time it isn't totally blacked out. Weber should change the website if this is a design change. Thanks again

I smoked 2 slabs of ribs yesterday for ~6 hours @225f and the pellet feed was flawless. Pit Boss cherry blend; I had just removed the finger guard and noticed how much more evenly the pellets fed into the auger. Before it would draw from the left side leaving a bunch of pellets stranded on the ramp and give me a low fuel notification. Love this thing but it has its quirks, def remove the wire guard, it is a regulatory requirement that interferes with operation. As long as you aren't an idiot it is totally unnecessary.

This the new Stealth one?

The wire insert is NOT an interference with operation. It does not, I repeat, does not, hamper pellet feeding.

Guys will convince themselves of almost anything.

So why do pellets not bridge as bad (if at all) when it is taken out?
Why did Weber change its location on the EPX series?
