Disappointed

Wonder if it is the outside air temp that is causing it to only go to 540 and then go out. That wouldn't be good, but just wondering...
I am from Waterloo, so I know your outdoor temp :)
I don't have a SmokeFire yet. Just watching all the discussions to see if I buy one.
Hope you get your issue solved with Weber. Be sure to post the result.
So now they say its the Treagor pellets I am using. I am not sure but off on a road trip tomorrow to get Weber pellets. Unfortunately nobody close sells Weber pellets . I Was also told by Weber that the Treagor was ok to use. I kinda hope there right.

Unfortunately my new EX6 will not stay lit long enough for the burn in. Reaches at max 540 and the slowly goes out. After 3 tries I give up and now waiting for Weber to call back hopefully with a solution.
The solution is sending it back. Sorry, that is unfortunately one of many problems.

The air temp shouldn't prevent it from getting to max temps. A couple people mentioned getting there when the outside temp was about 5F or -15C.

I kinda get it from their point of view, but that probably isn't the issue. Hopefully you can find some to try if for no other reason than to say "See look, it isn't the pellets!"

I think that this is nonsense. I am really trying to not be a hater or anything like that, but I believe you have already been through enough already and deserve to just turn the stupid thing back in. You don't owe Weber anything, they owe you. They owe you a product worthy of competing in the marketplace, and I must say they have failed at most every turn. Tell them you want your money back and IF you don't get a response in a timely fashion go to your credit card provider and file a dispute and tell them your product does not work and you want your money back. I for one have never even heard back from them after refusing delivery FIVE days ago. I guess I never will hear from them... but that's okay, I have my money back and Rec Tec has an order for a RT700. The free market is a beautiful thing.

So According to Weber the issues I have been having are my pellets. I could not find Weber pellets anywhere so I was using Traeger. On my initial call Weber said they were fine to use. Now they are not.. Weber is sending me some but I couldn’t wait and drove 45 min yesterday to get some. Vacuumed all pellets out and tried the Weber ones and the first try nothing. The second try they reached 600 and I kept it there no problem for 1 hour. Them slowly tried different temps and seemed to adjust and hold each new temp. I am still a little sceptical but it ran for 5 hours yesterday and made great venison chops. Today I will try again. If it really was the pellets they should send everybody a bag with the cooker just to save a lot of issue.

I've used nothing but Traegar pellets for 4 cooks now with no issues. I'll get to 600 in 20 minutes with no issue thus far, and its cold here, well below freezing. Unless your pellets have moisture in them, seems strange.

All I can say is I bought 2 bags last week. Maybe there was something wrong with them maybe not. I am going to wait until I get a few cooks in a row that work until I will say I believe. But so far it would not work properly until I changed the pellets and it seems ok now. Time will tell.

I don't have any errors. I don't think they know what is wrong which is probably why I haven't heard back.
Their sending me a new auger for mine. It’s doing the exact same thing won’t hold temperature. Not sure what a new auger will do but what can it hurt!?!?

In some other threads the people that have received new augers got ones marked Rev. F and the old one was Rev. D. So far seems to have fixed their temp Issues.

Also using traeger pellets with no issues, couldn’t find Weber’s anywhere

So I have done a few cooks with the Weber pellets and its much better. Wouldn't work without them. Then out of the blue I receive an email and phone call from Weber to say they are sending me a new auger and do I think I could install it myself or do I need a Teck. I wonder if the reason some people can use non Weber pellets and others like me can't is the auger assemblies are different.

Well I am still disappointed. One step forward and two back it seems. Installed new chute and auger assembly on Saturday and controller froze on Sunday during a cook. This is the second time. Called weber again today and was told to remove and reinstall app then update grill. I once again am sceptical and think that I either need a new controller or they have programming issues. Asked them at what point I could stop being a test subject and if I got a lemon they could send me a new one or give me my money back. I really want this to work but I am running out of patience. I own a Weber Gas and charcoal grill and its their biggest customers that they are disappointing. I hope you are listening Weber.
