Welded chute assembly, SmokeFire 69374

This is my second ex 4 (returned the first one). Last weekend in the middle of the 6 hour cook, my temperature dropped and kept going down. I shut down the unit and restarted it. The temperature reached the set 250 but 20 minutes later dropped to 170. Today I took the auger and chute assy out. My EX 4 has the newer black 1 piece chute and rev f. Any suggestions on what to do next? Has anyone else had a failure with the new "fixes". Yes, Im using Weber pellets and yes the software is current.
It is unclear, at least in my mind, whether or not you have the one-piece welded chute and auger assembly, but I doubt that is your problem. Rather it sounds like you have a problem with the firmware ( think corrupted) assuming that you were able to verify that pellets were feeding to the fire pot.

Weber does have a procedure to uninstall and reinstall (Reset) the firmware. You can access those in structions from the Weber.com site, or simply by going to the web and typing “reset the firmware on a Weber SmokeFire”. Good luck, as baring that solution you may have a controller issue.

Does anyone know the difference between version E and F of the auger motor? Mine is working fine at the moment with an E and I am a firm believer in "If it is not broken, don't fix it".
Others have reported that Weber told them that the “E &F” designations refer to the plant we’re they were manufactured, not upgrades. Doesn’t quite sound right, but...

Yeah that’s what they told me, I had an F from the beginning (preorder in Jan, received Feb). When they sent me a new motor for troubleshooting they sent me a D and I questioned as to why I would put an older revision in my Smokefire. I took the cover off both motors, components look exactly the same to me.

I was thinking if the F were a “newer” revision then I would not have had one already installed on an original unit?
