Weber Genesis vs Spirit - need a new gas grill

Yes, Sears great. I use Grill Grates and they help with sear. I have a third of mine with flat side up if want to sear whole side.

Thanks for feedback. Sounds like I can save some money and skip the version with the 'Sear Station' which is a $250 premium here in Canada. It also adds the side burner, but I don't need that. Worst case, I can get a small section of Grill Grates for searing.

I bought my Spirit a few years back used and it still runs like a champ. I would recommend buying used if you want to save money and just clean it out and get new grates and/or flavorizer bars. Also, my Spirit cast irons work on my Smokefire. A pleasant surprise :)

Before you get too exciting and start clicking buttons to buy, you might consider all of your devices that the GrillGrates might fit on. The kettle, the SmokeFire, the gasser. In some cases, if you buy an inch shorter, you can get dual use from them. My gasser GG are an inch too long to fit the SF front to back. So they go on side to side. Get a plan and then click, click. Or if your wallet is flush with stimulus, go for it.

There is no doubt that Weber is a good choice when it comes to gas grills. My Weber Genesis has been performing like new for about 6 years.
While many people talk about getting the grill hot enough, in my experience, it is the opposite that makes this grill so pleasant to use.

I personally think that it would be best to spend a little bit more and go for the Genesis if you have the budget. I got mine from this site https://dicksonbbq.com/ and I can honestly say that it is worth every dollar. Both options are really high-quality and durable, you'll be using it for a long time so might as well go for the Genesis which is just a better grill overall.

I have a spirit that’s been a rock for, at least 10 years still does a fantastic job. I highly recommend offer up or Craigslist. Not many people register their grills. Call Weber and register your grill. I bought an 18” smoker, on offer up, the middle section was very dinged up…I called Weber and no questions asked they sent me the middle section for no charge…
