I doubt anyone had a Searwood in time to test it out in actual cold temperatures given when they released. So this question is probably better answered by previous owners, or people who might still have a Smokefire. I'm soon to be closing a deal on purchasing a Searwood. My concern is that my previous smoker/pellet grill required a special insulated cover for using in the winter. Two friends who are ardent cold weather smokers also have had to purchase insulated covers for using their grill/pellet smokers in the winter. I might be wrong but I cannot find a Weber offered insulated cover for the purpose.

Were/are the Smokefires usable in the winter, as is?

Might anyone have any idea about the Searwoods and use in cold weather? I do use any smoker/grill that I own a lot in the late fall, and through the winter.

I used my smoke fire all winter, just got the Searwood I'm sure it'll be fine, and more then likely need to by a after market insulated blanket

Thanks for providing your experience with the SmokeFire in the winter. I'm sure the Searwood should also be fine based on that. A part of my question was that Weber does snot appear to offer any insulated blanket/cover and I did not realize after market versions were out there. I had only previously seen them offered for grills by the makers of the grills.
