Grease fires - easy fix. Just use a drip tray.Ramp easy fix, controller easy fix (replace), auger easy fix (replace in some cases). Grease fires that’s a difficult fix. Grease need to be flowing away from fire box.
Just got off the phone with a Weber rep to order the new pellet ramp. The young lady said it would be shipped out today and that I should have it within a week. I told her that I had seen the video and knew I could install it. She asked me to please give them a call if I had any trouble with the installation.
It's good to hear how Weber has stood behind these smokers. I know the Company truly regrets the issues people have had, but they are determined to make it right.

What is wrong with your pellet ramp? Of all parts I would not think those could become an issue, a simple metal ramp. .
Pellet slide in the hopper. They are sending me the fix for that. Sorry I suppose the ramp is the one on the fire pot. I thought you were talking about the hopper box fix.
Awesome to hear I had smaller issues but I truly felt Weber is going all in to make this grill a success!I left work early tonight while there was still good daylight to get home and disassemble my grill to take the pictures that the Weber CSR asked of me in the email last night after talking on the phone.
I sent the pictures in with some notes about my pictures and some of the other issues I had before the ash box fire incident. I made as many notes as I thought necessary and hit send.
Within 20 minutes or so I received a call from Weber. The supervisors name was Chris. I have to say that I had a 35+ minute conversation with him that made remember why I buy Weber products and believe in them and their company. Chris did not give me any corporate BS. He did not speak out of both sides of his mouth. He was completely honest and straight forward with me. I felt like I was talking to a grilling buddy just like all of us on here. We discussed EVERY issue I have had and he totally was transparent with me and down to earth. He took notes. He asked questions too and took more notes. I felt like I was his friend and not just a customer. I am a Marine Biologist by degree and very large company manager by trade and he totally respected me as scientist and my input/approach/detail of everything and appreciated me and everyone on this forum for our feedback and made me really feel that they are listening to us as a customer. We discussed several of the opportunities I and others have had with the SmokeFire and he took even more notes. He said they have a meeting daily and would bring up the thoughts and suggestions. In short I was amazed. I am 40+ years old and I know when I am being blown smoke. He was NOT. For sure was totally sincere.
More amazingly he told me that Weber is going to send me a new SmokeFire EX6 without charge and also will make arrangements to have my current SmokeFire picked up. He said I will not have to do anything but be home to allow them to shrink wrap it to a pallet and send it back. They want to use it to research what happened. He also told me to call back once I get my new grill to insure I assemble it correctly and assist me however needed. He said they will send me the new pellet hopper insert (We both agreed mine was not an issue after I told him what I did to "fix" mine but he is sending it anyways) and that my new grill will not have any kind of modifications but would be one that was inspected by their engineers to be the product they had designed.
Overall I cannot be happier about their resolution to my concerns and issues. I am completely impressed by them. Chris also said he would send me a bag of pellets of my choice too but I dont care about the bag of pellets. EVERYTHING he did was right. Weber came through as AMAZING again tonight!!
I will let you know how everything pans out and update you all along the way.
Hopefully they add some fins or cool racing stripes on the new one for your troubles. At least the sick oven will be used to help prevent other ovens from getting sick . Give it a good send off.Just checked and Weber has my New SFEX6 shipping soon, My hopper Mod (not sure if I will use this. I may do the tape again since it worked perfectly and I keep 2lbs of fuel BUT I will def start with their solution for troubleshooting and testing purposes,) on Wednesday and a bunch of pellets coming on Friday. Sadly my old SFEX6 will be picked up by Seko on Thursday evening to go back to Weber for testing. I am literally going to have a going away party and either cook on my Kettle, My Summit Gasser or my Pitboss Austin XL and say my good byes. My littlest Girl asked me last night "Daddy are you going make us some food on your new oven?" (She is 3) I told her sorry baby girl but my oven is sick. She kissed it and said "I make it all better daddy" I wished it was that easy!!!
Curious if you have already updates in the grill. e.g. the new ramp as of factory. My Replacement Weber SmokeFire EX6 has arrived!! It arrived Monday the 16th. I have not had a chance to assemble it yet or check out what revision auger it has, etc. I will do so tomorrow or Thursday. Recent events have me too busy at work. It was born on 2.10.2020 so much more recent than my last one but unfortunately born on a Monday and My grill was ultimately delivered 6 days later than the delivery date Weber paid for to ship it to me.
I do have to say that Weber did an outstanding Job of immediately shipping the replacement grill. They use Seko, I assume because they are local. Seko did a great job of getting it to Tallahassee quicker than expected. However all efforts by Weber & Seko to expedite everything was totally wasted. Seko uses a 3rd party for their "last mile" shipper. Meaning Seko delivered it to someone else in Tallahassee that then is supposed to deliver it to me. The 3rd party the use here in Tallahassee, FL is Economy Moving and Storage LLC. Look them up. Probably the most horrible reviews I have ever seen for a local company of any kind that is still in business. I would not even had looked them up but when my grill arrived in Tallahassee on MARCH 6TH!! and I had not heard anything on MARCH 12th I looked them up. Long story short with a lot of my time calling My grill arrived 6 days later than Guaranteed.

I thought the same thing on the phone with them when it was replaced but looking at the date, I would doubt it but I am hopeful. Feb 10th was pretty close to around the time everyone started really getting their grills and posting, etc about the issues. Unless they really knew well beforehand than the timeline would not add up. I really do not think they knew all the issues. I think that honestly this was a test unit vs. production unit (that obviously was not tested ever) issue.Curious if you have already updates in the grill. e.g. the new ramp as of factory.
