Anyone have issues tripping the cGFI circuit when smoking in the rain? I had to end a session because of this. With the extension cord it was fine. Once I plugged in the smoker, it would immediately trip. Ideas?

Make sure the power cord is plugged in tight to the SmokeFire.

I ran the SF for 6 hours in the rain a couple of weeks ago from a GCI. I had no problem. Have you checked that the plug in is grounded correctly?

I run mine on a circuit that is protected by a GFCI breaker. Occasionally I had some nuisance trips in heavy rain before I purchased SF. I went through and found water penetration in two receptacles due to faulty cover seals (funny how a potential ruined cook can motivate!). Since fixed, no trips. 3 successful long cooks in the rain with SF.

As GCFIs age, they become more susceptible to nuisance trips in general (especially with anything that has a motor). If you haven’t already I would replace the GFCI device and troubleshoot from there.
