TRIGGER PULLED Weber Searwood 600XL

Is your name SlapShot because you play hockey?
I played a lot of hockey, but too old now. While I had some other limitations, I was renowned for my slapshot. In one season, long ago, I broke the glass in four rinks, knocked out three goalies, and scored over 50 goals. But, that was long ago, and faraway. How time flies.

HA! What a coincidence. I too have a sick slap shot too. Scored 3 goals in my beer league game last month because of it... 1 was tipped and 2 went straight in! I also broke glass as well back in the day in juniors. Nice to see another puck dude on this forum. Happy smokin, bud!

First cook!! Chicken souvlaki!! She’s officially broken in, folks!

Thoughts on the first cook: this grill runs hotter than my EX-4. I think I cooked those skewers in about 20% less time than what it used to take me on my EX-4. Everything that everybody said about the SearWood is true:
  1. The display is WAY easier to read, with larger brighter numbers.
  2. I love the fuel level on the app, no more running outside to pop open the hopper lid to see how much fuel is left.
  3. I love the hopper on the side, way safer to add pellets and way easier to access.
  4. I love that the hopper lid can double as a side shelf, I ordered the side shelf as well but you really don't need it on this grill
  5. The shutdown process shows a timer that is easy to see. App notifications are the same as the EX-4 but you couldn't really see a timer on the unit because it was so faint.
Those are all my thoughts after my first cook which was pretty basic. On Sunday I am tackling the rotisserie!! Gonna make a chicken on there.

The second cook completed last night!! Forgot to take pics, Used the rotisserie and roasted a chicken, with potatoes in the drip tray. My only issue is that I underestimated the amount of time it was going to take... aside from that it was delish.
