This video is one where his Smokefire has completely locked up. Makes me nervous.

I was watching his video's earlier this morning on you tube it got me worried about issues with this smoker.
I am still waiting on mine, but essentially most videos that people are making do seem quite negative. Do you have yours yet?

Also getting very nervous if they rushed this out to launch, I’ll see when I get together next week gonna be a bummer when we were all so stoked if so
The good news is that there are many folks here that are happy from what I can see, and of course being on the cutting edge of something new always has risks. Also, the people that are having good experiences are busy eating meat! But seriously, like the guy in the video here, he is a legit guy that is having some real issues. He is not trying to put down Weber or make bad press. So yeah, it just makes me wonder. I don't like having to deal with things like I am seeing. Who does? Weber is a solid company with a good reputation... they certainly don't like hearing about these videos!

I watched that video minutes after he posted it. Looks like an issue that can be fixed with a software / firmware update. I will definitely make double-sure that all software and firmware updates are done before trying to run it. I’m probably going to toss a few pellets right into the fire pot before I do my burn-in. That just seems to make sense. I’m watching and learning everything that I can from assembly, to burn-in, to first cooks. The idea of these forums and videos is to learn from others and that’s what I plan to do.

Side-note: no ETA yet from the local dealer on my grill.

Very alarming indeed! The biggest concern with his issue is that the controller failed and he wasn't notified. The mechanical issues are a problem but if we are aware, they can be resolved. With Weber placing so much emphasis on the Weber connect app and it's ability to simplify the entire process, the controllers failure (if the controller fails as it did, Weber connect never notifies) in the video is a HUGE issue....

I got mine delivered yesterday, completed the burn in and ran simple temp test to see how long it takes to reach 600. Will be posting results in the temperature thread shortly, but haven't run into any issues yet...

Also I noticed in the video how loud the fan seemed. Is this normal sounds like a small shop vac.
I saw that one too. I might be wrong, but I think that was on his initial burn-in. It did seem a bit loud. I’m hoping that under normal cook conditions it won’t be that loud.

It has been very hard for me to resist from making the purchase so far . Last Saturday when I seen it at Dickson's Barbeque I almost bought it, they had them in stock but I decided to wait because it was a new product from weber and I wanted to make sure the bugs where ironed out first. I can still use my weber gas grill for now.
