HELP! Smokefire - plus (+) button and food probe issue

Can you get to the cooking programs in the app itself?
yes, but my question refers to the quality of my controller (smokefire in Europe starts at 1500 bucks...) and its software... is it bugged or damaged? It looks I'm not alone with this issue.
 
One can either use the app and have access to the options they wish to use or continually press the button on the actual controller and view a QR code. You pick. Problem solving isn’t really this difficult. 🙄
 
ok, your jocking me... :) however, my first mind, when an user' manual says something and the equipment does not...is tha some issue occured and must be fixed... Just for yr guidance... weber app IS NOT available for all smartphones... finally the price of the smoker DOES NOT include any smartphone and the Smokefire, if not differently and clearly stated (minimum requirements), it MUST work despite any app or device is linked. my two cents

I guess I don’t understand the question because when I press the plus button on my smoke fire I got the menu. Have you updated the software? Also do not update the grill when you are Wi-Fi. Only update when you are connected to Bluetooth

Does the local Weber support system indicate that it works? I wonder if they staggered the roll out like they did the release.
 
I've opened a ticket at customer service, only received their confirmation that somebody from tech team will check... I'm posting here, hoping somebody holding a Smokefire might check what this plus (+) button actually does...

ok i went out and checked and yes, when i press the plus button it just shows me the barcode. maybe they will change it to do something useful in the future. all active functions are the top button

Hedonism, I'm having the exact same issue as you.

After some previous update, I'm no longer able to manually change the temp through the app. So, I removed the grill from the app and factor reset the grill. Now, I'm no longer able to link the app and the grill. When I try through the app, it says to follow the onscreen instructions but nothing happens on the grill. When I try to add it from the grill with the "+" button, I get the QR code that leads me to download the app. I have tried every permutation of having the app open and grill menu on various screens and I'm no longer able to link the two together. I will have to contact support.
 
thanks, unfortunately, the real issue is the food prove one... I want to set the inner temp and I'm wondering the Smokefire adjust its power according to the food probe setup. Unfortunately, despite the user's manual directories, the only think I can set on the food probe is an alert, it means I should adjust the Smoke power by myself.
Correct. It is an alert only. Has no inoact on how the the grill heats.
 
I asked this question of tech support a long time ago and was told the the recipe menu he’s talking about will NOT show on the Smokefire display, only on the phone app.

just received the answer from the Weber Custom Service, and the result is that the (+) plus button is presently idle and the functions related to it will be actived in the near future by a software update.
