HELP! Problems with auger and now glow plug ex4

I am actually missing the other screw so here it is installed with the one that I have
You haven't got the lid got the burn pot the wrong way around have you?
You shouldn't be a gap at the front like that.

Good catch!

I think it is on the correct way as the other way the screw holes I don't believe line up... I'm not home to check now to check, though I will.. also I need to find a second screw to secure it regardless.

I will check to see if I can make that fit tighter if I turn it around

Also I’d remove the finger guard. Don’t take out all three at the same time as they hold the auger chute too. Stuff a rag in the chute in case you drop a screw to prevent it from dropping into the auger.
do you have another glow plug, I thought the gen 2 came with extra. Make sure it’s fully seated as that seems to be consensus on why they fail. Also like AHoneyman said double check the assembly especially if store assembled it. If you don’t have the single piece black chute contact Weber, since it solved a lot of people’s temp issues.
I agree with abmet. I actually have a 1st gen EX4, and while Weber sent me the parts, I have yet to install the new auger or any of that. Once I removed the finger guard, no more flow issues at all, and that was probably eight months ago. I will say that ever since the last software update I have had to manually light the pellets several times because of the same thing. Auger keeps adding pellets, but the glow plug fails to ignite anything. I am not receiving any notifications that my glow plug is toast, either.

On a long cook the pellets will cavitate. Must move them with your hand every 4 hours if you fill the hopper. As it has been said, the old chute was aluminum and riveted. I got my EX4 Feb 2020 and went thru all the fun including a no start the first time using pellets that were too large!
