Pellet consumption seems high

Now that it has been a few updates since this post, have you noticed the fuel consumption any better? About how many lbs per hour are you using and at what temps? Thank you in advance for your reply!
I really don't have any further information to share on this. I would say that it appears to be consuming less, but I don't have anything concrete to base that on. It may just be that I cried "the sky is falling" too quickly, and now that I've gotten used to the pit a bit more, I've come to terms that it takes fuel to burn a fire. *GASP*, I know. And while I would love this thing to politely nibble on pellets, I'd much rather have consistent and steady temps. So I'm now willing to say "it is what it is" and just make sure I've got an extra bag around if setting out on a 14+ hour cook. Sorry I couldn't give you the answer you were looking for.

That was the answer I was looking for (y) How many lbs/hr do you burn through at about 250deg? Im trying to see if I need to buy an extra bag or not

Though I never would stake my life or my pork butt on it, I tend to make sure I have about 1.5lbs per hour for long low-and-slow cooks. Basically, fill 'er up when you start and make sure you have another bag just in case. Worst case, you run out and have to finish your cook in the oven.

I have become a heretic. The oven has been getting used a lot once I wrap in paper. Some one else is not too happy with all of the thermometer wires coming out of the oven door. I have been saving on pellets and doing dual cooks with both running at the same time.

My EX4 burns through the pellets pretty fast but I contributed it to the cold temps up here. I put a welding blank over the top of the grill and seemed to slow the usage down a bit. We will have to wait and see once the sea warms up a bit here.
