Just popping in to introduce myself.

I'm a big Weber fan and a fan of all things grilling/smoking and being from the KC area, the BBQ tradition runs deep. Just picked my new EX6 Gen 2 this afternoon, and I'm excited to jump on the pellet bandwagon. Just did my first burn in tonight and while I'd rather smoke a brisket (or the whole chicken I picked up earlier) we're doing pizza since it's late and easy to do quickly, the chicken will come tomorrow.

Again, really excited, I know Weber's had a rocky start with the SmokeFire series, but I'm confident they've ironed out a lot of critical issues with the Gen 2. I figure they'll support and fix any issues going forward and if they don't I should be able to find some workarounds thanks to forums like this.

Welcome! I expect to see some SOTM from a KC guy, who already knows bbq/grilling/smoking. You will love the SF. I was a hardcore kettlehead, charcoal/wood and the pellet thing bit me and I’ll never be the same.

First "real" cook is a whole chicken tomorrow. I plan on making some faux burnt ends from a chuck roast and probably some steaks this weekend as well. Plus I've had a request for a pork butt, so I've got a nice long cook to look forward to.

The SF is going to be busy!

Try a razor blade. Put a Tee shirt around the blade and “slowly” - SLOWLY start pushing at one corner of the decal. Keep a close eye to ensure the blade doesn’t cut through the tee shirt. When you have it off and there is some residue on the paint, take a dab of toothpaste and rubbing in a circular motion, it will clean right up. If the paint appears a little dull, put some polish on it. It will shine it right up.
I use that method to Debadge every new pickup I’ve owned. I remove decals, plastic or metal items.

It comes off best if slightly warm I think. I had to use goo gone to get residue off mine.

Welp... our greyhound was chasing a squirrel or something and managed to knock over the SF. I was at work and my wife was in the office when it happened so we're not entirely sure what happened. All we know is the dogs were outside and she heard a loud commotion. When she looked the SF was on its back and the greyhound had a cut eye and was really out of it.

Looks like I'm on the hook for a new motherboard and hopper since they both got smashed up. I'd only had it 8 days at that point!!!! I've only done two measly cooks on it.

So frustrated. I don't even know how he managed to knock the thing over (and concuss himself in the process).

I'm getting upgraded casters, all four LOCKING.

I also wish there was a lower shelf to help stiffen the legs, I see inserts where it looks like something would attach but so far haven't found anything that goes there.

Argh.

I'm wondering if they thought a shelf below was a good idea until they saw how many sparks end up coming out the bottom. That was the progression of my thinking anyway.

Hopefully they have a metal wire rack or something in the works, anything to tie the legs together would help. Though I guess encouraging storing things there is probably not the best idea as you mentioned.

I may just make some criss-cross supports from flat bar stock or something. Shouldn't be too difficult.
