Firmware Update 4042

I’m on 4042 now. Not cooking tonight but started it and set temp to 450. Boom done. After a little bit I bumped to 585 because that’s where it stopped when I spun the dial on the app. Boom. Did a little burn off in lieu of a cleaning. Shut her down. I thought everything was flawless. Fingers crossed.

Update is working flawlessly! Very happy.

Mine updated to 4042 the day i bought it
As it would of depending upon when you updated the firmware. It was officially released on September 21st, but in increasing release for several days before.

Folks, where I have had problems is not with a single run at one temp. It is where I do a low temp and then change to a higher temp. For example, run at 250 for an hour and then change to 400. That is where I have problems. I keep running multiple probes trying to figure out what I am seeing. And I had a great run yesterday at only 350. Made a lovey apple dump desert.

I have found that, instead of doing a large jump, if I pick one say + or - 75 at a time, my EX4 tends to respond faster. I don’t necessarily wait for it to reach that changed set-point, but then increase/decrease it again. There is a reason, I believe, having to do with the PID logic they are using. However will see what happens later today as it will be my first run on the 4042 firmware.

Folks, many of the issues that I have talked about with the 4042 firmware update have been greatly decreased by the junOS update 1.4 2350, which occurred this last weekend. The Weber site still lists the older version as the latest SF software. I totally understand the need for beta testers but I sure wish that Weber would tell you prior installing something.
