My own recipe:
8 oz of buttermilk
1 bottle/can of beer
6 to 8 oz of jarred pickle juice (I used Wickles)
2 tablespoons coarse salt
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire
1 tablespoon hot sauce (I used Frank’s)
Black pepper and crushed red pepper to taste … don’t hold back! LOL. (I did a tiny bit of cayenne too but I like heat)

Soak chicken pieces for 16 to 20 hours…Grill or smoke and enjoy!

Seriously this was the best chicken I have ever made.

Thanks for sharing PatrickE, I will give it a shot when the weather breaks

Yep interesting for sure. Some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten is brined in buttermilk brine. Thanks

Were they crispy? Any photos?

Very crispy… unfortunately I neglected to take photos as the family was diving in! LOL
This lack of foresight disqualifies you from posting any more info about this cook. Lol 15 yard penalty, first down. Just kidding…sounds yummy
