Aftermarket glow plugs

I haven't checked the circuit board but as far as i can tell it feels like a pretty tight fit when i push the plug in to the holder and i have the ground secured with a hoseclamp, i always clean out the burn pot before each cook... If it keeps eating plugs i'll have to pull it apart and check about the circuit board. apart from the hassle with having to mail Weber to get new plugs i suppose the day will come when they won't replace them for free and at that point i will almost spend as much on plugs than on pellets 😉
You might also have a faulty glow plug holder. I would ask Weber, as owners on some other sites have reported a bad wire connection at the wiring harness connector.

I got my EX4 in February and my first plug went in July, the second is Aug and 3rd in early September, each time weber replaced them free of charge with no questions asked. On the last time they sent me 3 replacements and also a replacement holder, stating that I'm going through them pretty quickly. This seems to have helped, the new holder looks exactly the same, and the original did feel like it was connecting well, but the plug does seat much firmer on the new holder so it is making a better connection.

I use my grill regularly and have had no issues since.

Weber rep also told me that they are aware that the glow plugs aren't lasting as long as they should and they are looking at the issue.

Good to know woodsum. So far they have been very quick to send new plugs (the first time they included a bag of pellets) without any fuss, so no complaints about customer service. Though, it's a bit of a mystery that they opted to use the most obscure glowplugs on gods green earth instead of for example using ceramic rods like some other manufacturers ;)
