470 Max Temp

His post said he was using Weber pellets.

If you are having this issue and aren't using Weber, Lumberjack or Cabela's pellets, swapping to one of those is the first thing you should be doing after checking for burn pot damage.
I am already in contact with Weber customer service and following through with the instructed steps and just waiting for their response at the moment.

I will be picking up a new bag of Lumberjack this weekend and testing out what I can on my end. I shall see if Weber believes that it's the pellet or if they found something from the photos I sent.

Honestly, make a new post here and put the photos up (don't piggyback on this post as it will get messy).
We should be able to get you up and running or at least give you an idea quicker than Weber.
If they know you are using off spec pellets, they will tell you to use theirs regardless.

This was Weber's reply to me about pellets. They sent me 2 bags and I had no problem getting to 600 with them. I also have used Kingsford brand since then and had no issue.

As for the pellets, I've had most of my customer advise the name brand isn't important as the quality. However, I have a small percentage of customers that advised the grill worked much better when using Weber pellets. I'm unsure if the brand made the difference or if the new pellets were fresher and that's why the performance improved.

It sounds like you are having the same issue as me. Seems appropriate to me to keep the posts in the same thread for future members that have this issue. Try a new bag of pellets from a different store.

I’m now having a similar issue. Can’t get past 460.

Basics checked: correct fresh pellets, cleaned hopper and pot, no jams, ambient weather 60.

I’ve changed the auger once, glow plug and now they are sending me a new thermocoupler.

I’m posting because I have no clue why they think this will help. I think it’s the controller not sending enough pellets. On start up there’s a huge flame out of each side and when trying to get up to 600 the flame is smaller and the fan sounds it’s on full blast.

Has anyone changed their thermocoupler and had success getting to higher temps?

I’ve been going through repair after repair and now I’m out of the 100 return warranty by a couple weeks and wish I retuned it sooner.

I’ve lost confidence that they know how to help and are just delaying the inevitable.

Low and slow it’s amazing. And even at 450 it does a great job with steaks but I bought it to get to 600 and it’s not working.

Any advice to the guy whose tried it all?
