SmokeFire EX4
The reason for my post is I recently bought a SmokeFire EX4 grill. I’ve been smoking and grilling for 60 years and I was excited to find the grill that could do both.
We moved to Denver recently and I wasn’t able to bring my smoker and our grill to Denver. I purchased a smokefire EX 4 grill and began to use the devise. The device comes up to temperature but then starts shutting down. I don’t know what to do as the manual doesn’t cover this situation.
Ant thoughts would be appreciated.

Does it give an error message and go through the actual shutdown process? How hot does it get before shuts down?

No error code. The last attempt to use the grill resulted initiating the shutdown process as the temperature started rising and would not stop. I pulled the plug at 720 degrees. I’ve called to report the issue and hope to hear back in a few days. Totally confused and disappointed.

Definitely contact Weber support, sounds like controller issue. Does it do that at lower temp settings like 200?

Welcome to the forum Mike.

Not sure what could be causing that. Please let us know if you find a solution.

Finally got fixed. It turns out it was the motherboard. Not sure why the motherboard got corrupted but replacing took care of the problem. Also the glow plug assembly had to be replaced as the part that holds the glow plug melted. Took three weeks to get this figured out and replaced. Now it’s working fine. Don’t know what caused the problem, just hope it doesn’t happen again out of warranty.
