I used my EX-6 fro the first time in about 6 weeks, when I took out the ash drawer the disposable tin tray was filled with water. I keep it outside but the Weber cover is always on when not being used. Has anyone else had the same issue ? Thanks for any info you can offer !!

I do, with my EX4. But I have no idea why. Both with and without the cover. But not all the time that it rains.

I’ve had mine get wet after extreme weather events but not with the cover on. Hard to imagine. Even if the cover is not “waterproof”, it’s resistant. One could get a waterproofing spray if they require additional protection.

Gremlins.

I told my wife it was a sign that its time for me to build a smoker shed, electric, water, fridge, couple of big screen tv's ............
Obviously correct.

Not personally but I have seen other people post about it happening.

I had that happen with cover on, I’ll take a smoker shed as well!!

I haven’t had that problem with my smokefire but when I had my traeger I had an issue with water. I solved it by covering the smoker with a cheap plastic tarp then putting the cover on. I have continued to do this with the smoke fire.

I’ve had this happen too but only more recently. I’m thinking might be my cover’s age.

Sorry not to have seen this earlier, but might your "rainwater" have come from a leaky smoker tray? I have reused a tray and found it leaked!

Check the ash drawer cavity, with the drawer removed. If there are any pellets or ash residue the drawer will not close all the way and water can get into the drawer from the front because there is a small opening where the drawer does not fit flush with the opening. I use the provided plastic scraper and a vacuum to remove the debris from the drawer slot.
