Anyone having issues with their grill not getting and staying to the preset temp when heating up? I have this prob every time I cook - I set a starting point (say 550 degrees), the grill heats to about 450 or 475, and then just drops for no reason. I try to change the temp to "wake it up" and sometimes after about 15 mins it'll start getting hot again... taking like 30 mins to get to a temp I want to use. Hopper is full, software is updated, etc... any thoughts?

Have not had any issues for months now (@6 months). There was a glitch issue similar to what you describe that I experienced a few times but that was months ago and was resolved in an update I believe. Good luck. Might need to shut off and on a couple times to get updates. Are you connected to internet and using your phone to link up?

Burn pot not correctly assembled?
Finger guard not removed?
Brand, age and condition of pellets?
Gen1 with failing Gen1 parts?
Gasket between ash draw and cook chamber failing?
Grill could just be filthy and needs a good clean (including temp probe)?

All these could cause issues like you are experiencing.
Might also be worth just doing a factory reset.

Thanks all - yes to the internet question. It's a brand new grill - maybe 2 months in use. New pellets. I'm going to run with the software issue - seems odd that it starts, then drops, and then sort of figures it out again and starts again...

It sounds like a a software glitch from the past. Hopefully an update would fix it for you. FWIW, it does sound like what many experienced in the past. Should be able overcome it. Good luck. 👍🏻

Had all sorts of temp issues and Weber replaced the controller and everything has been good since
