I'm sure I'm not alone. My theory is a SmokeFire design flaw is letting drippings flow into the grease tray holes *way-too-close-to-the-fire-box*. If I were to drill two holes, each midway from left and right grill ends and the firebox, I could stem the flow of grease to the designed grease tray holes, thereby lowering the probability of grease fires. I would further add small holes to string soup or coffee cans to catch the drippings (old school design feature ;-). I admit, it sounds like a Rube Goldberg solution, but I'm offering my idea to Weber in the hopes that they do *something* about this major safety concern!
