SmokeFire EX4
Hi, Everyone!

I accidentally made a great discovery and wanted to share it with anyone who may be interested...

I have the EX4 (though I'm sure this would apply to either model), and noticed that the pellet lid and back of the barrel where the smoke comes out get really gummy from....well...SMOKE! Not a big deal, I'm not a fastidious cleaner who has to have his smoker immaculate, but I will admit that as quickly as that lid gums up....I was hoping to find a way to clean it from time to time. I used vinegar-soaked paper towels laid on it for a bit, etc....which did work, but not great. Then I remembered I had some of the Kirkland brand (from Costco) disinfectant wipes. If you get the multi-pack box, there are even ones in there that have a scrubby side to them. I decided to just use one of those to touch up from the vinegar and quickly realized that those wipes absolutely EAT through that smoke residue. Almost effortlessly I was able to get the surface of the pellet lid, barrel, etc. back to new condition....even right around the vents where the smoke comes out! I was very shocked, and I thought if I could save someone else some time/elbow grease I would. :-) Happy grilling, folks! -Ken

How about a picture of the package?

A good point! Here you go...

We have been able to buy Clorox wipes for a couple months now. They limit the amount per visit though. Keep in mind that the big box stores like Sams and Costco are the last places I go when I need something scarce. They get overrun with idiots before any of the smaller neighborhood stores do.

I’m an idiot, I love Costco at 9AM on a Saturday.
Nobody there to get in the way.

I’m hoping you don’t have 10 years worth of TP in your cart. 🤪

Poor choice of words on my part. I only mean the volume of customers made it hard to find those elusive items during the early days of the corona craze in our area. People going and buying up ridiculous amounts of items and causing artificial shortages and panic.

I thought it was a good choice of words, it’s why I go early the crowds drive me nuts. I didn’t go for the first 6 months of the Corona craze.

Same here...fortunately I have a spouse who loves to haunt places like Costco, Sam’s and BJs. Therefore I have only been to Sam’s once and that was to stock up on a USDA Prime sale.

I only go to Costco when they put their safes on sale with deep discount and shipping.......

I need one of those!
Around the holidays, about 30% off. Not the best but better than nothing. And everything you put in it, multiples like bunnies.. :)
