Weber YouTube site says burn in 450 for 30 min. Many use oil or pan. I’m just wondering if I should use pan or nothing ?

Don't use oil, that may prevent burning off the factory grease/oils.

No pan needed either. Anything that collects in your catch pan at the bottom can then be dumped out.

Agreed.

Hello, new to the group. I have a new Searwood XL 600, I just did the burn in and I have ash on the grates and all over the lid. Is this normal?
