I finally made the move to buy the Searwood 600 today and was looking forward to firing it up very soon. I went to my local Ace Hardware to purchase one. Even though listed on the website, they do not have them in stock. They can order one and have it shipped to your home, but that won't help me. The whole reason I was purchasing it at Ace was because they do assembly and delivery for free. They said that no store anywhere near my area now carries them in stock. I have verified that via their website. No store that has one is within delivery area to me, and they don't transfer them between stores.

I cannot buy one elsewhere, even if they offer free shipping (doubtful?). I'm currently unable to assemble it myself, as I just had hand and wrist surgery last Friday. Now, along with a custom brace, which I have to wear 24 hours a day, extending from my elbow to the last digit of my fingers, I cannot make any use of my hand for at least eight weeks. Following that, there will be therapy assuming all goes well. Per my surgeon, I am limited to no lifting or grasping anything with that hand. I suspect the grill likely needs two people to assemble it, and I can't even come up with one. My brother would certainly help, but he is in Alaska until late August. I had a next door neighbor that would also have gladly helped, but his wife just announced she is divorcing him, and he's moved in with a family member an hour away. Last year, I moved out to a rural area, a move that was a result of a financial situation. and have literally no friends within less than a ninety minute drive, and I'm certainly not going to ask two of them to undertake a three hour round trip to help put together a grill, especially as we have major road construction disrupting every way they would travel to where I live at the moment.

It would appear I am going to miss the entire summer smoking/grilling season due to the Ace Hardware situation. Really, really disappointing. And I've found no one else who assembles and delivers.

While I've not done it, I think you just click Free Assembly as an add-on and click Free Delivery to your home, and they'll assemble it and then deliver it to your home. If you want to make sure, just ask them at the store to confirm and I'm sure they will help you through the process. I just clicked those two items and put it in my cart, and it shows free assembly and delivered to my home.

None of my local Ace Hardwares carry them on the floor, I think they sell all of them through either delivery to the store, or delivery to home.

Thanks, I will look into that immediately.

At least around my area Ace will assemble and deliver from the shipping hub.

Amazon will assemble & deliver them for free if you’re a Prime member. In my case it would be by next Wednesday.

Took me about half hour to assemble

Order it. Ace will put together. it only takes a week to have your ace hardware store to get it and put it together and deliver it to you. Just takes a bit of patience.

Check Lowe’s if you have one in your area. That’s where I purchased mine. Assembly was free as was delivery.

Checked Lowe's but they were out of stock. I made a trip to my favorite Ace hardware today. Its about twenty minutes away, and there is a closer one, but there is no comparison. The store I prefer has far more expert help available, and go out of their way to make sure you get the best service.

I talked to an assistant manager there who is well versed in their grills, etc. He said that they and sold out of the firt few Searwoods and he had wondered why they had not been restocked by their Ace state warehouse. He took me over to an unused counter, and pulled up Searwood availability on his system. Turns out that the warehouse had reordered three times, and there were already so orders in place at the Michigan stores before they even had the chance to deliver them to the stores. He identified an additional shipment due July 31'st, and plugged in my order for a 600. They expect it by the 1st or second of the month, will call me when its available, and I'll stop by, pay for it, and set up a time and date for them to deliver it to me after they assemble it. I should be in business soon!

I was lucky to find one at one of the nearby Ace stores. I took care of everything on the phone. They delivered next day.

I ordered one from Amazon last week, includes free delivery and assembly in the location of my choice. Should be here next week.

My long awaited Searwood was finally delivered by Ace on Thursday. Just in time for four straight days of rain and daily thunderstorms. Once again, timing is everything. It will likely be Tuesday before I can burn it in, and hopefully, following that, smoke my first batch of something delicious.
